Concrete Slabs & Footing

Footings are an important part of foundation construction. Typically made of concrete with rebar enforcement that has been poured into an excavated trench, footings support the foundation and prevent settling, especially important in areas with troublesome soils.

Suffice to say, the construction of footings is best left to the pros that can assess the soil conditions and communicate with the engineers to decide on the proper depth and width for the footings, as well as the proper placement. The dimensions of footings also dictate the size and type of structure that will be built; placement and curing of footings, meanwhile, are crucial to providing the proper support for the foundation and, ultimately, the structure.

A slab is a single layer of concrete, several inches thick, poured thicker at the edges to form an integral footing, with reinforcing rods strengthening the thickened edge. The slab normally rests on a bed of crushed gravel to improve drainage.

We are professionals at excavating, forming, preparing and pouring shallow or deep foundations and slabs that follow the recommendations set by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), and we’re always proud to share our knowledge and to educate our customers.
